VladFoto - Santa Fe Based Wedding Photographer
To call him multi-talented is an understatement. In the typically separate worlds of wedding photographers and videographers, Vlad successfully bridges that divide. He moves effortlessly between the two medias, seeing the power of crisp frozen moments in still photography, capturing the full impact imagery of motion in his video. We’ll get back to video another time, for Vlad’s films deserve a post and critique of their own. This is all about his stills.
Vlad’s still photography, while sophisticated, remains endearing in its approach. His photography “career” started at
age 8 with a father’s gift of a Nikon and has carried him across Europe, up Mt. Rainier, and onward to the Las Cruces Sun-News in New Mexico. His years of shooting culminated with an approach that is both natural (he loves working with natural light and real moments) and remarkable (he strives to find those singular moments unique to your wedding).
He is well-recognized in the photography community, giving presentations as far away as Mystic, Connecticut and as close as Foundation Workshop in Dallas, Texas. His utilizes his knowledge to help other photographers grasp the changing technological tide of wedding photography. His numerous Associated Press Awards for his news photography are a testament to his skill.
But it is Vlad’s easy demeanor and ability to blend unobtrusively while recording the patchwork of emotions that evolve throughout a wedding day that really set him apart. Ever aware of the many aspects that surround a celebration, he brings a unique perspective to the wedding location. What might be considered “background” by some, Vlad turns into a significant addition to the story of the day’s events. And then there is the dynamic sense of color that we are so enamored with. But just about the time we have decided that color is his dominant feature, well, a black and white photo appears and we have to stop and reconsider.
His images are never ostentatious, yet powerfully striking. He captures moments of joy, tenderness, elation, reflection, silliness, and romance….. Could you ask for anything more?
