Monique Lhuillier

The name Monique Lhuillier has become synonymous with sophisticated and stylish weddings. Her lush and daring creations possess both flair and beauty and are completely one of a kind. Naturally, it is no surprise that Lhuillier has become one of the most sought after designers both in the bridal market and on the red carpet.

Born of Filipino, French, and Spanish origins her exquisite taste and definitive style was crafted at an early age. Raised in one of the more prestigious families of the Philippines, she was exposed to a world of

luxurious tastes, which helped to hone her own unique style. Her bridal beginnings, however, are quite simple: Lhuillier literally fell into the world of weddings as she recalled how difficult her quest to find the perfect gown had been. Drawing on her design background, she began sketching and created her own gown designs. In 1996, Monique Lhuillier emerged on the bridal scene, a unique and refreshing addition to what was an already saturated market.

Her trademark style has the rare ability to make a woman feel simultaneously elegant and sexy. A Lhuillier gown transforms a woman, instantly allowing her to feel her most beautiful. She is a fan of fluid looks which are feminine, sweet, and utterly unique. Her gowns are all modern and stylish, and completely handmade, exhibiting exquisite craftsmanship and creativity. Most designs are a-line and have lush and dramatically constructed skirts. She is also a fan of the two-piece gown, where an impeccably beaded bodice is combined with a draping skirt. An embellished sash or belt usually ties the look together. These gowns are romantic even though they border on a touch of a nontraditional sensibility. She has successfully combined modern, high fashion with the sweet and romantic.

Lhuillier favors designing with imported fabrics, hand beaded laces, stunning embroideries, and the finest of silks, chiffons, and satins. Each gown is lined with silk, luxurious against the body, soft and comforting, and perfect for the long day ahead. Her collection combines bows, pleats, ruffles, and sumptuous soft fabrics in an array of soft color schemes. In 2001, she added an evening gown collection, which has since launched into a more comprehensive ready-to-wear collection, both of which are adored by numerous celebrities. We are enamored with her unique sensibility and look forward to seeing her ever-growing empire expand.
