Mermaid Gown

Mermaid Gowns are stunning silhouettes that hug every curve. They are very form fitting until the fabric hits the bottom of the knee cap where it flairs out, producing the mermaid tail appearance. It is dramatic. Brimming with sex appeal, this style is flattering for the the petite as well as the tall, accentuating curves and length.

A highly structured gown, some dresses have an architectural feel depending on the fabrics used. Lush draping on the bodice and organza skirts are especially lovely. Duchess satin blends offer the right amount of

structure and we are partial to lace detailing. For the ultimate show of femininity choose this gown with a sweetheart neckline, simply stunning! If you want to flaunt your shoulders, this is your style for broad shoulders balance the dramatic mermaid skirt.

A reception in a museum or a private club or a hotel ballroom would be an ideal venue to showcase this dress. Appealing to both urban and sweet sensibilities, it is modern yet romantic. Since this gown is a bit sexy, a cover up may be indicated for part of the day. Lace boleros or feathery shrugs would be wonderful counterparts and would balance the shape. A classic french twist or an equally elegant up-do would round out the look.

This gown is all about the skirt. A lack of movement can happen, so make sure that you are comfortable and have easy mobility. It is a long day and you want to feel terrific.

Create a splash….
A mermaid gown by Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier certainly will. Or check out a whole school of them.
